Puppy Welfare

Policy

Puppy Yoga VIC exists to support the wellbeing of both puppies and people.
We work with puppies during the 8 - 12 week socialisation stage, offering gentle, positive experiences that support confidence, emotional resilience, and healthy development.

Our classes always follow the puppies’ pace - their comfort, safety, and autonomy come first. Puppies are never forced to interact and are free to rest, play, or withdraw at any time.
For participants, our sessions offer a moment to slow down, breathe, and reconnect in a calm, supportive environment.

We partner exclusively with ethical breeders who prioritise health, temperament, and early-life care. All puppies are raised in environments that support proper socialisation, enrichment, and veterinary oversight.

Our practices are informed by consultation with qualified veterinary professionals and current animal welfare guidelines. We are committed to maintaining standards that align with best practices in puppy development, handling, hygiene, and stress minimisation.

To further support puppy welfare:

  • Sessions are time-limited and structured to avoid fatigue or overstimulation

  • Puppies have access to designated rest areas away from participants

  • Handling is always gentle, supervised, and optional for the puppies

  • Hygiene and sanitation protocols are strictly followed to protect developing immune systems

  • Class sizes are kept small to ensure a calm, controlled environment

Our intention is to create a space that feels safe, ethical, and meaningful - where both puppies and people benefit simply from being together.
